Cecile, 32, started sailing in her youth on dinghies, working her way up to Silver VI level and racing 420s at regattas. She then made the jump to keelboat racing aboard a J109 on Lake Ontario and is a fixture on the club and weekend racing circuit there every summer. In 2024, Cecile caught the offshore bug, taking on the RORC Caribbean 600 — a 600NM race out of Falmouth Harbour, Antigua — twice. On board, Cecile’s go-to roles are main trimmer and pit, though she can slot into other positions as needed. She’s also keen to grow her skills in offshore navigation and is looking to take on more in that area on future races. This May, she’ll be completing her Coastal Personal Survival certification, with her sights set on the Lake Ontario 300 this summer — now just needs to find a boat!
